Spectraserv's Waste Operations Division has provided full service wastewater treatment plant digester cleaning for over 45 years. Whether it is routine maintenance or part of a larger expansion or upgrade of your facility, Spectraserv's experienced personnel and equipment can provide the removal and disposal of all the waste that has accumulated on the bottom of your digester.

To deal with this problem, Spectraserv can develop and implement a program that will include the utilization of dewatering into pumps, hoses, and tanker trucks along with its trained staff to remove material from digesters in a liquid or dry form. This liquid waste will be transported to and further processed at its Kearny, New Jersey Residuals Processing and Transfer Facility or other approved treatment plants prior to ultimate disposal/reuse at permitted facilities.

Over many years sediment, grit and debris can settle at the bottom of the digester decreasing its overall processing capacity.

Spectraserv's Construction Division can also offer maintenance and repair programs for your tank or digester.

Some recent examples of these projects include:

1. As part of an overall plant upgrade program, Spectraserv was hired by MBE Mark III Electric, Inc. as a subcontractor to provide digester cleaning at the Berkeley Heights Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project consisted of 2 digester cleanings with removal and off-site disposal of over 1,200,000 gallons of residual material.
2. In October 2009, Spectraserv was awarded a contract by Moorestown Township for the clean-out of  primary digester #2 located at its wastewater treatment plant. Utilizing its trained crew and equipment, Spectraserv removed nearly 155,500 gallons of sludge from the digester and transported the material to its Residual Processing and Transfer facility in Kearny, NJ for further processing and disposal.
