Spectraserv is divided into two divisions — the Construction and Waste Operations/Environmental Services divisions. Our firm, located in South Kearny, New Jersey, provides solutions to proper waste disposal, transportation - both by barge and truck - waste treatment, a transfer station, and an entire general contracting division. Both Spectraserv's divisions service municipal and industrial clients. Our typical construction clients include but are not limited to water and wastewater treatment plants, private treatment works, and pumping stations.
Spectraserv, previously Modern Transportation Company, was incorporated in the state of New Jersey in 1961. It began by transporting waste from facilities to designated transfer stations. In response to the changing needs of our clients, Spectraserv expanded its capabilities to include residuals treatment and construction operations in our line of waste management services. In fact, instead of transporting sludge to other transfer stations, Spectraserv now operates one of the largest residuals transfer stations in New Jersey.
With numerous business affiliations and a wide range of environmental services, we are able to keep up with the latest technology and training, which helps us expand and develop our expertise in the field. A fully permitted and carefully regulated facility, excellent reputation, and a health and safety focus help Spectraserv keep serving the greater New York City area better and better each coming year.

Certified and Licensed Contractor
In addition to our stellar track record of work performance, Spectraserv was issued an A-901 clearance by the State of New Jersey in 1988, and continues to maintain this clearance via annual disclosures and reporting. This certification is renewed after several state agencies conduct an extensive company investigation.
Our clearance gives us the privilege to be licensed in accordance with the terms and conditions of state law. It also entitles us to quick siting approval and permits us to transport waste and conduct projects in the waste management business.

The waste management division has successfully completed 2,700 contracts since 2005. During that time, Spectraserv has repeatedly proven its ability to efficiently and safely complete both large and small waste management and construction projects – especially for clients with complex specifications and a restricted schedule. To this day, many clients continue to trust our company and our services. In fact, we have more than 25 diverse projects currently at hand.
